Why a new church?

Numerous denominational studies have shown that new churches are the most effective way to reach the un-churched and de-churched. Read Why Plant Churches by Tim Keller for more information.

Why Huntsville Metro?

Over 50,000 new residents have moved to the Huntsville metro area since 2020. That’s 10,000 per year, or nearly 200 per week!

Many of these new residents are un-churched, de-churched, or simply looking for a new church home.

No one congregation can grow large enough to reach and disciple the hundreds of people who are moving here each month.

Did you know?

Every year about 4,000 churches are planted in the U.S. And every year, about 3,700 churches close their doors permanently. That means that we are only adding about 300 churches per year. That’s not enough to keep up with the population growth, much less effectively reach the growing demographic of the unaffiliated.

Developers are investing in new neighborhoods. The city is investing in new infrastructure. Businesses are investing in new stores & restaurants. The church should be investing in new churches.

The Power of an Invitation

According to The Unchurched Next Door by Tom Rainer, 80% of unchurched individuals said that they would likely come to church if we invited them and accompanied them to the worship service.

“Dozens of denominational studies have confirmed that the average new church gains most of its new members (60-80%) from the ranks of people who are not attending any worshipping body, while churches over ten to fifteen years of age gain 80-90% of new members by transfer from other congregations. This means that established churches ought to be investing in new churches
