Resurrection Hope Church is a church under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are committed to contending for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3). In unity with the historic Christian church, we believe and confess the Apostles’, Nicene and Chalcedonian Creeds as accurate representations of Scripture’s teaching. In addition to these historic formulations, we are situated within the evangelical and reformed traditions.

While the doctrines expressed in our Statement of Faith are recognized to be universal and primary within the Church, we believe Scripture teaches a number of secondary beliefs as well.  We refer to these secondary beliefs as theological distinctives. Our Beliefs

Statement of Faith

  • The Gospel is this: we are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope. 

  • God loves to communicate with the people he created and the Bible is the book he wrote to do just that. In its perfect pages, he tells us all we need to know for this life and the life to come. The Bible has authority over all we do. 

  • God has existed for all eternity as One Being and Three Persons. God is relational and loving in his very nature and he chose to share that relationship and love with his creation.  

  • Humanity was created by God— in his image— to be in relationship with him.  As such, every person on the face of the earth is of great value, possesses great dignity, and is worthy of great respect.  All humans were created to reveal God’s image on earth.  However, we all distort His image to some degree because of our sin.

  • There is more to life than what we see: God made every person who has ever lived with a soul that will never die. We will all live on forever: either in relationship with God (heaven) or separated from him (hell).

  • Sin is the rejection of relationship with God. Every person ever created has done this by doing things we shouldn’t do and by not doing the things we should. Such actions destroy our relationship with God, are offensive to him, and are counterproductive to our own joy.

  • Jesus came to restore our relationship with God. Being fully God and fully human, he became our substitute: living the perfect life we couldn’t live, dying on the cross to pay the punishment our sin deserves, then rising again to conquer death.

  • There is absolutely nothing we can do to restore our relationship with God. No amount of work, effort, or good intentions can mend the mess we’ve made. Salvation can only come through Jesus. Consequently, it’s a free gift. Faith is the act of receiving this free gift, trusting that God reaches out in sovereign grace and draws us back into relationship through his Son. Why? Simply because he loves us.

  • God does not leave believers to make it through life on their own. Instead, he sends the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts. The Holy Spirit leads us into truth and gives us strength to follow Jesus.

  • Community is at the very heart of who God is and so he gave us the Church. We walk, not only with God, but also with other believers, loving one another well and working together to see God’s purposes for humanity fulfilled here on earth.

  • Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to finish what he started. He will complete his promise to make all things new when he comes again, judging all humankind and receiving his people unto himself.

Our Values

  • Hospitality

    We welcome the un-churched and de-churched into our homes and into our church through our hospitality. “Come and see!” That was Philip’s invitation to his friend Nathanael in John 1:45-46. That simple invitation resulted in a changed life. Resurrection Hope is a place where people can come see, hear, and experience for themselves the hope of Jesus Christ.

  • Outreach

    Evangelion (what we call “the gospel”) is a Greek word that means good news. We believe the gospel is more than good vibes or good advice— it is good news about the hope of Jesus to everyone who believes.  At Resurrection Hope we believe that God uses ordinary people, to accomplish His extraordinary mission through outreach and evangelism.  So we are committed to doing ordinary things, with gospel-intentionality. 

  • Planting

    We are committed to planting (and helping others plant) new churches. We believe that church plants are the most effective way to make disciples. At Resurrection Hope, we care more about our sending capacity than our seating capacity. 

  • Expository Preaching

    We believe that God’s Word never returns void, therefore we are committed to expository preaching, which fosters a deep understanding of God’s Word. The main goal of expository preaching is to expose what the Bible says to the church.

  • Family

    We believe that God’s family becomes visible on earth through his church. A Christian is one who has been adopted by God, brought into the family of God, all by the Son of God. At Resurrection Hope we care for one another like a family, because we share a spiritual unity through our common Heavenly Father. As a church, we place a high priority on supporting families. We invest our time, energy, and resources in our discipling our children, youth and families.

  • Unity

    A unified church demonstrates the power of the gospel to the world, offering a compelling witness to the transformative love of Christ. Unity doesn’t mean uniformity. A unified church can embrace diversity, recognizing that everyone has a unique story, personality, and gifts.  Resurrection Hope is place where we want you to discover your gifts and leverage them for the Kingdom of God.  We believe that the Church does not exist for us, but we, the Church, exist for the world. We want to use our unique stories, personalities, and gifts to connect others to the hope of Jesus. 

  • Life Together

    We believe accountability, belonging, and care happen best with when we share life together. At Resurrection Hope, our goal is to connect each person with a hope-filled community that can provide a thriving environment for spiritual growth.
